Gin Course - Gin Distilling & Gin Tasting Course (ADVANCED) (Just 2 Places)
This is a one day gin course for both home gin distillers looking at developing their own gin recipes and to launch their own craft gin commercially.
Gin Distilling - The history & gin styles
In the morning expert gin distiller Jamie Baxter takes you on a potted history of the origins of gin it’s rise and fall and subsequent rebirth. We look at the different styles of gin along with their particular flavour characteristics: London Dry Gin (juniper/citrus), Bloom gin (floral) Berkeley Square (herbal) and Opihr (spiced)
Gin Botanicals - Gin recipe formulation
We examine in depth the range of gin botanicals and how they work together to create the different gin styles. We undertake a tutored workshop under the supervision of our distilling expert of gin recipe development looking how we can formulate a range of gin recipes using varying botanical ratios to create different gin styles with the aim of producing an award winning small batch gin for sale or home consumption.
Gin Course - Demonstration distillation
We aim to work on our small demonstration copper still and undertake a demonstration distillation to produce a small amount of gin which we go on to show you how you can dilute to strength and then bottle ready for consumption.
Gin Cocktails - An exploration
The day rounds up with an exciting exploration of the history of gin cocktails, who invented them, how they came about focussing on martini, negroni and martinez along with a short tasting session. We highlight to commercial gin producers how you can increase the value of your craft gin by 50 times by selling your gin as stunning gin cocktails.
Gin Course - Masterclass
This one day gin masterclass is a must for would be commercial craft gin producers, home gin producers and people just curious about the variety of gin styles and flavours and how to get more out of your gin selections.
This Advanced Gin Distilling course is ideal as a stand alone day or as an additional day on the 5 day Practical Commercial Distilling Course for those distillers looking at specialising in Gin production.
